Ruth Pointer is an American singer–songwriter who is best known as the eldest member of the American family vocal group The Pointer Sisters. After a brief split following sister Bonnie's departure from the group, a musically reinvented and recharged Pointer Sisters returned composed of Ruth, Anita and June.
