Donald Strait was activated in 1940 while serving with the New Jersey National Guard. During World War II, he became a U.S. Army Air Forces DOUBLE ACE, credited with shooting down 13.5 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. After the war he transferred to the new U.S. Air Force as a member of the New Jersey National Guard, served in the Korean War, and retired in 1976 as a Major General. He was inducted into the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame in 1989. Major Donald Strait has hand signed this Vintage 8x10 Photo with 361st Fighter Squadron and 13 1/2 Victories inscriptions.
