Harmon Killebrew was a pro baseball first baseman, third baseman, and left fielder. During his 22-year career in Major League Baseball, primarily with the Minnesota Twins, Killebrew was a prolific power hitter who, at the time of his retirement, was second only to Babe Ruth in American League (AL) home runs. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. Dick Perez is internationally recognized as the preeminent artist within the world of baseball. He had the distinguished honor of being official artist of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York for over twenty years, and where many of his paintings still hang. He has painted portraits of every Hall of Fame inductee. Each year Perez paints the official portraits of newly inducted members for display at the Hall of Fame during the player’s induction year. One of the most beautiful sets ever issued, Perez-Steele's "Great Moments" set began publication in 1985. The offering was limited to 5,000 numbered sets with periodical updates. The set is fashioned after Dick Perez’ favorite card set of all time, the colorful T-3 Turkey Red cabinet cards of 1911 and salutes the defining moments in the careers of Baseball Hall of Famers featured in the set. The complete set is comprised of 108 cards, which were issued in nine twelve-card series.
