In 2008, Louis Murphy led the Florida Gators in receiving yards (655) and ranked second in receptions (38) and average receiving yards per game (46.8). He averaged 17.2 yards per catch, fourth in the SEC. He surpassed the 1,000 career-receiving yards mark with 54 yards in the victory over South Carolina. He extended his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 27 and scored his final college TD on a 20-yard pass in the first quarter in the Gators BCS National Championship Game win.
