At the 1989 NFL Scouting Combine, Deion Sanders ran a 4.21 second 40-yard dash, which was considered to be second in Combine history behind Bo Jackson. He was the fifth pick overall in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, where he played until 1993. Sanders returned his first career punt return for a touchdown.
