Nathan MacKinnon is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is a center and alternate captain for the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL. MacKinnon was selected first overall by the Avalanche in the 2013 NHL entry draft. He won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 2022, and has also won the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award as the league's most valuable player during the 2023–24 season.
