Willie McCovey played in MLB as a first baseman from 1959 to 1980, most notably as a member of the San Francisco Giants. He was a six-time All-Star, three-time home run champion, MVP, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986 in his first year of eligibility.
