Jim Sharp entered the Army in 1944 and took combat infantryman training. He served as Sgt. of the Guard during seven months of the Nuremberg trial. Following the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, he helped arrest civilian and military members of the Nazi leadership and bring them in for questioning. He was responsible for security in the courtroom, the prison cell, the exercise area and internal and external security.
